The Training and Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Office Operations. This position will collaborate closely with Directors and Managers across all locations and divisions. This role’s responsibilities include the creation, implementation, and documentation of The Bug Master Safety Protocols.  Additionally,  this role will be responsible to create, implement, and document the Development of Team Members on an established career path ensuring each team member has a clear professional trajectory within the organization. The Training and Safety Coordinator will also manage administrative tasks related to safety and training, support the onboarding process for new employees, and oversee their training during the initial weeks to prepare them for success in their roles.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strategic planning and execution, and creativity that aligns with current trends. It also involves effectively training employees in a way that enhances retention and application. Additionally, the role demands a strong focus on administrative duties, safety protocols, and career development initiatives.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions and Duties: 

Safety Management 

- Develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. 

- Maintain and organize all safety-related documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and compliance records. 

- Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. 

- Perform routine safety inspections of work environments, equipment, and processes, providing actionable recommendations to address any risks. 

- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety concerns, accident investigations, and corrective action plans. 

Training and Development

- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including scheduling, safety orientations, and initial job-specific training. 

- Provide hands-on support to new employees during their first weeks, ensuring they understand company policies, procedures, and expectations. 

- Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for existing staff to enhance skills and knowledge across all roles. 

Career Path Guidance

- Collaborate closely with managers to design and implement career development plans for all team members, ensuring alignment with individual goals and organizational needs. 

- Regularly meet with employees to review their career objectives, provide guidance, and outline actionable steps for progression within the company. 

- Track and monitor employee growth, development milestones, and training achievements to ensure alignment with career paths. 

- Partner with management to identify training and mentorship opportunities that align with employees' career aspirations. 

- Promote a culture of growth and continuous learning by facilitating discussions about career advancement during team meetings and evaluations. 

Administrative Responsibilities

- Manage all administrative tasks related to safety, training, and career path development, including scheduling, tracking progress, and preparing reports. 

- Maintain detailed records of employee training, certifications, and career development plans, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations. 

- Compile and present performance metrics to the Director of Office Operations for strategic planning. 

Collaboration and Communication 

- Work closely with Service Managers to ensure consistency and effectiveness in safety, training, and career path practices across all locations. 

- Facilitate regular meetings to communicate updates on safety policies, training programs, career development initiatives, and compliance requirements. 

- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to address complex service issues or operational challenges. 

Experience, Education, and Skills Required: 

- Proven experience in safety management, training, career development, or a similar role (minimum of 2 years preferred). 

- Strong understanding of OSHA standards, workplace safety regulations, and industry best practices. 

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with learning management systems or other training platforms. 

- Exceptional organizational, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 

- Ability to travel to various locations for training, inspections, and collaboration. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Certification in safety-related fields (e.g., OSHA 30, Certified Safety Professional). 

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. 

- Familiarity with pest control or related industries is preferred but not required. 

Typical Working Conditions and Schedule: 

- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions and environments. 

- Frequent interaction with employees, management, and customers. 

- Full-time position requiring availability 5-6 days per week and occasional travel to company locations or training events. 

Physical and Mental Demands: 

- Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. 

- Requires constant alertness, physical activity, and the ability to work in confined spaces or elevated areas as needed.
