Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of The Burt Group. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Receivable while also providing oversight to the Accounts Payable function. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable :
- Serve as the sole owner of the Accounts Receivable process and act as the primary contact for all AR related questions.
- Request certified copies of all pay applications submitted to clients for confirmation of timely approval of funding.
- Request funding updates from all clients for open billings on a monthly basis and follow up weekly for overdue payments.
- Timely and accurately post payments to Sage 100 for funds received.
- Create monthly AIA pay application pencil copies and distribute to the project managers, review edited pencil copies submitted by the project managers, enter billings into Sage 100, create appropriate lien waivers and submit billing package to client.
- Submit necessary lien waivers to clients for payments received.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly Accounts Receivable reports.
Accounts Payable :
Assist Accounts Payable with collecting unconditional releases for subcontractor payments
