Coordinator of College Counseling and Student Success (Seattle, WA)                   

Full Time (1.0 FTE) Hourly/Non-Exempt

Academic Year (10-Month) Schedule (Start Date: August 14, 2025)

The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our College Counseling and Student Success Team as a Coordinator of College Counseling and Student Success. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency.  We are building a team in which diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and talents are valued in order to work with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff and families. The Coordinator of College Counseling and Student Success reports to the Director of College Counseling and Student Success and works closely with high school-aged students, as well as with the Associate and Assistant Director of College Counseling and Student Success. This position includes participation in the Upper School Cascade as 10% of their work responsibilities, serve as an advisor as 10% of their work responsibilities, and 80% of work responsibilities will be devoted to College Counseling and Student Success.

While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:

  • Manage the scheduling and logistics of grade-level and school-wide college counseling workshops and events
  • Promote and organize visits by college admissions representatives from around the globe
  • Engage and build relationships with admissions representatives as their first point of contact in the College Counseling and Student Success Office  
  • Utilize college counseling software, including Scoir and College Kickstart, to organize data and facilitate the submission of documents to colleges and universities  
  • Support the Assistant Director of College Counseling and Student Success to coordinate School Day testing for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT in addition to AP exams in addition to supporting eligible students with testing fee waivers  
  • Prepare students for the college counseling experience by serving as the primary contact for 9th and 10th-grade students and families
  • Assist with 10th-grade student roundtable discussions and engage with Bush’s College Counseling and Student Success Instagram account to answer ongoing questions
  • Maintain a database of summer enrichment opportunities, scholarships, and alumni connections
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Upper School and across divisions to gather information about students, reduce anxiety about the college admissions experience, and prepare students for life after Bush  
  • Provide administrative support to the entire College Counseling and Student Success team
  • Help to facilitate student internships through The Bush School’s signature Cascades program, including mentoring students, placing interns, coordinating site visits, and participating in student workshops and class meetings  
  • Participate in some evening events
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Professional Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is required
  • Experience in a school or community-based educational organization is preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite
  • Strong computer skills, comfort with new technology, and appetite for innovation
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and maintain high standards of confidentiality

Additional Requirements:

  • Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)
  • Meet the school’s standards when completing two separate background screenings

Compensation/Benefit Information for this position:

  • Hourly Range: $ 32.50 – 35.15 (depending on work experience)
