Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and support. You will be responsible for managing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Schedules patients for consults, follow-ups and simulations, as needed.
- Gathers the necessary medical information for the patient's appointment (i.e. preauthorization, medical records, lab results) and scans into ARIA.
- Sends out the "Welcome" packet to the patient via email, mail or fax.
- Greets patients when they arrive and check patient into ARIA. If patient is new, have patient complete registration forms, enter/scan demographics and insurance into ARIA/Akamai and prepares a new chart.
- Greets visitors in a friendly and professional matter. (i.e. family members, vendors, etc.)
- Preps patient’s chart- collects patient information according to diagnosis and ensures all pertinent information (referring physician’s H&P/ labs, imaging, operative notes, pathology, any pertinent outside correspondence) are received/updated a scanned into EMR before patient’s appointment
- Scan reports, labs and diagnostic testing results in charts.
- Prepare and collect co-payments from patients.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent, required
- Front office experience, preferred
- EMR experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- Completion of MA or NA program, preferred
