Job Description:
Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant – Physician facilitates excellent patient care by supporting and collaborating with clinic team.
Desired/Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required to successfully complete orientation program
- Certified Medical Assistant required
Specific skills & abilities:
- Preferred one year experience in outpatient physician practice or healthcare setting
Schedule: Mon-Fri. 7:45am- 4:15pm
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitates efficient flow through the clinic by preparing patient for visit by obtaining vital signs and medical history, reviewing medications, and provide care as determined by providers and management. Assures completeness of the medical record by reviewing and gathering all relevant documents prior to and during patient visit. Maintains clinic space and equipment. Communicates environment and equipment concerns with appropriate team members. Completes administrative responsibilities such as scheduling and order entry. Welcomes and communicates with patients and visitors in a caring and respectful manner. Collaborates with other care team members and anticipates their needs to ensure coordinated patient care. Assists with ongoing quality improvement to provide efficient, cost-effective care. Engages in continuous education and training to maintain skills, knowledge, and competency to complete functions of role. May be pulled to work at other CHC sites based on clinical and patient needs. All other duties as assigned.
