Reports to: Director, Tax

Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for maintaining proper accounting records by accurately and effectively classifying, preparing, recording and verifying financial data in a multi-entity environment. The Senior Tax Accountant works closely with the Tax Director, Controller, Finance Director and other members of the Finance Department and operational teams.  This is an exciting opportunity to perform tax functions within a highly complex, ever changing and growing industry.


Major Areas of Responsibility include:
•    Prepare and File Tax all indirect and income tax returns for all relevant jurisdictions
•    Records financial transactions via journal entries and supports the month-end close process.
•    Performs complex analysis and prepares monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements.
•    Reviews general ledger account activity to ensure account balance accuracy and prepares account analysis for senior leadership.
•    Assists with external audit requests and provides timely, detailed work products.
•    Respond to relevant tax Audit requests
•    Assist in the annual financial audit and preparation of tax return work papers.
•    Generates/crafts ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required by Senior Management.
•    Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and develops alternative solutions to accounting problems.


Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
•    All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
•    A degree in accounting, financing or business followed by 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting environment.  Combination of public accounting and industry              experience a strong plus.
•    Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software a plus.
•    Comfortability within a high-growth, rapidly changing environment with constantly shifting priorities.
•    Demonstrated advanced ability in word processing and spreadsheet software use, including Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skills required, accounting          software, e-mail, etc. 
•    Ability to deal with confidential information such as financial records and salaries. 
•    Ability to work independently and solve routine problems.  
•    Knowledge of Federal and State tax codes and practices.
•    Knowledge of basic GAAP & Accounting principles, standards and practices.
•    Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
•    Skill in using computer and application software for financial transactions.
•    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
•    Possess interpersonal, negotiation skills and conflict management skills.
•    Ability to develop strong relationships and experience working with senior level executives.
•    Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, and presentations to leadership as required.
•    Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with confident leadership.
•    Ability to organize and prioritize work, strong time management skills.

•    This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment.  The ability to lift or move up to 5 pounds, bend, reach, and perform manual tasks may also be required.
