Position Summary

The Tax Operations Manager role sits within Carlyle’s Finance and Investor Services division, specifically embedded within the Tax Department. The Tax Operations team is charged with overseeing key investor-related tax compliance programs, and with driving coordination, efficiency, and innovation across key tax-related processes that impact the entire Carlyle platform.

Reporting to the Tax Operations Principal, the Manager will provide critical support and oversight of the firm’s tax compliance processes at both the fund and firm levels. This includes ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of investor tax documentation and coordination of the annual tax compliance cycle. The individual will work cross-functionally across internal teams—including Legal, Fund Management, Partnership Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Global Technology Services (GTS)—and coordinate closely with third-party tax advisors and service providers.

A strong understanding of tax operations and technology is essential, as this role is central to documenting current and future state tax processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving implementation of system and workflow enhancements. The Manager will also oversee the tax notice and refund process and support information reporting and withholding (IRW) reporting (e.g., FATCA, CRS) and the Withholding Foreign Partnership (WP) program.

This role is instrumental in helping modernize Carlyle’s tax function by streamlining existing processes, enabling new technologies, and embedding best practices that create long-term value for the firm and its investors.
