What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Event Server position at The Cart Collective?
If you thrive in fast-paced environments, can think quickly on your feet, and don’t mind a little chaos, this job is for you! The Cart Collective is looking for event servers to support our mobile catering events. We specialize in high-end corporate events, brand activations, and influencer experiences—so you must be comfortable handling VIP clients with high expectations.
This is a freelance/on-call position—perfect for someone looking for extra work, not for those seeking full-time or consistent part-time hours. Events are often booked last minute, so flexibility and availability on short notice are key.
What You’ll Do:
-Serve guests and provide an excellent customer experience
-Assist with event setup and breakdown
-Transport and handle carts carefully
-Engage with guests in a professional, friendly manner
-Maintain a clean and organized setup, including cleaning carts after each event
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Must be at least 18 years old
✔ Barista experience required (you’ll be serving specialty drinks!)
✔ Event or wedding planning background preferred
✔ A great attitude—you must be patient, adaptable, and able to handle pressure without frustration
✔ Comfortable driving large vehicles (clean driving record required)
✔ Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to get one)
✔ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver the cart to the event location
✔ Ability to lift and transport equipment as part of event setup
The Details:
Location: Staff must be willing to drive to our studio in Santa Clarita. Events take place across LA, Ventura, and Orange County (up to 75 miles from Santa Clarita). You will start and end your shift at our studio after packing up.
Pay: $18/hour
Dress Code: Black jeans or dress pants, branded t-shirt provided, black or white tennis shoes. Must be well-groomed, with natural makeup and a presentable appearance.
Is This You?
This role is ideal for freelancers or those looking for extra income. We get busiest in the summer, but this is not a set-hours-per-week job. If you love working events, are quick on your feet, and can roll with last-minute bookings, we’d love to have you on the team!
