The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) is a world-class medical camp where children with serious illnesses and their families come to grow in confidence, gain independence, and meet their new best friend! CCK has served over 40,000 campers from 46 states and 13 countries. The children and families who attend CCK can experience activities like horseback riding, boating, fishing, rock climbing and bowling with no limitations or barriers. And best of all, no camper or family is ever charged to attend CCK!
The Center for Courageous Kids seeks a strategic and dynamic Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead and elevate its fundraising and communication efforts. As a key member of the leadership team, the CDO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of development, marketing, and partnerships to support CCK's mission. This position will supervise the Grant Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, Health Care Partner Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and Marketing & Communications Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in nonprofit development, including supervisory experience.
- Proven track record of leading successful fundraising campaigns and managing diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in donors, staff, and stakeholders.
- Experience in grant writing, event management, and marketing/communications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making
