Job Overview:
The Job Developer reports to the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program Manager and provides direct services to our clients. The Job Developer will assist the clients with finding a job in their community and by providing support services to the clients. Those services include transportation, assisting with creating resumes, or training employment skills, including how to be successful on the job.
The Job Developer's role involves identifying job opportunities that align with the client's interests, needs, skills, and experience. They will provide support and assistance to clients in achieving their career goals and may collaborate with local employers to connect clients with available job openings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Adhere to The Center’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality.
· Maintain relationships that are respectful, based on mutual trust, and that maintain professional boundaries.
· Develop professional relationships with local employers tailored to the business and client needs.
· Meet with local employers on a regular basis to ensure quality of services, communication and satisfaction.
· Encourage growth and recognize autonomy while also being attentive reducing the client’s risk of harm; create a safe environment.
· Know and respect the values of the people served and advocate their expression of choices.
· Follow each client’s person-centered plan to aid in achieving their goals.
· Meet with clients on a regular basis to ensure active participation, communication and client engagement.
· Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes by participating in departmental meetings.
· Observe and report any patterns in behavior including any progression or regression and report to the Program Manager, capture success stories.
· Acts as a resource to the clients, including supporting and motivating them when possible.
Requirements:
· Education: High School Diploma.
· Experience:
· 3 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
· Proven track record for participating in the community.
· Physical Requirements
· This position will typically work in the community with occasional work outside and in small, enclosed spaces. Frequent sitting, standing, talking, active listening and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling and crouching.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
