JOB REQUIREMENTS Milton Day CNA:
- Possesses the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, lifting objects up to 10 lbs, assist with 50/100 pounds, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching overhead, push or pull, simultaneous use of both hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Possess the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time; speak in conversational tones utilizing English/American Language.
- Communicate with participants suffering from various disabilities (difficulty hearing/seeing, confusion, physical weaknesses, seizure disorder, Parkinson’s, etc.).
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Knowledgeable of the Milton Adult Day Services philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Arrives to work and meetings on time and ready to work.
- Respects confidentiality of clients/families and other employees.
- Sees change as an opportunity and maintains a level of flexibility, which allows for adaptation to new ways of performing.
- Engages participants through the use of humor, enthusiasm, and positive reinforcement.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- Clearly communicates information regarding changes in participant condition to RN.
- Demonstrates good judgment in knowing what information needs to be communicated.
- Handles communication in a timely manner.
- Maintains documentation of client participation in activities.
- Records information accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
- Provide care and services to participants according to the care plan or as approved by an RN.
- Assists with other activities of daily living as directed by an RN.
- Offers support and encouragement to participants and families.
- Assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic activities under the direction of the Activity Coordinator and/or other Day Center staff.
Client Care:
- Provide care and services to the Day Center guests according to the care plan and Life History or as approved by the RN or Director.
- Assists with other activities of daily living as directed by the RN or Director.
- Offers support, enthusiasm, and encouragement to Day Center Guests and families.
- Assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic activities under the direction of the Life Enrichment Coordinator or Director.
- Follows the innovative specific model of care daily. Training provided.
- Willing to obtain specific Dementia Certification after 30 days of employment. Credentials awarded after training complete.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Health care experience in geriatrics
- MUST PASS CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. MUST HAVE CURRENT CNA LICENSURE THAT IS IN GOOD STANDING.
