We are currently hiring a Part Time Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) Instructor for the Day Time Class (9AM-3PM)
* This position is Monday - Friday. Weekends and Holidays not required *
Responsibilities
This position supervises all aspects of the NATP (Nurse Aide Training Program) and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the training program in accordance to the policies in procedures and State and Federal requirements.
- Identify and obtain/develop the necessary materials and tools to teach, instruct and evaluate the performance of each nurse aide trainee enrolled in the NATP.
- Provide classroom instruction while following the New York State guidelines/approved curriculum/syllabus.
- Ensure/provide continuous direct supervision of the trainees while in the clinical setting.
- Incorporate instruction related to core values that are identified as the foundation for all aspects of care.
- Responsible for operating the training program on a day-to-day basis following all required guidance.
- Responsible for ensuring that the participants obtain all state required education (including classroom and clinical education).
- Responsible for employee injury prevention, follows safety rules, and addresses safety issues with supervisor.
- Ensure that all supporting paperwork is on file and maintained according to regulatory guidance.
- Responsible for submitting all paperwork to appropriate agencies that verifies successful completion of the NATP.
- Ensure that all students have the required hours of training (both in the classroom and clinical settings) according to regulation.
- Provide remediation and assistance to CNA trainee as needed.
- Provide evaluations to CNA trainee as needed.
- Provide counseling/support to CNA trainee as needed.
- Responsible for employee injury prevention, follows safety rules, and addresses safety issues with supervisor.
- Obtains consent from the residents or primary contact before clinical training.
Qualifications
Must possess, at a minimum,
- Registered Nurse License with current registration in New York State
- At least two years experience in a Nursing Home
- Demonstrate competency to teach adult learners as evidenced and documented by at least one of the following:
- Completion of a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners or New York State Education Department teacher certification.
- Two years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the State Education Department or other recognized accrediting body
- or two years of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility
- Strong verbal, written, computer and leadership skills required.
