Responsibilities
A. Manages Development Program For Foundation
- Cultivate and establish effective communication with prospective donors and supporters
- Grow major gifts program, including donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation
- Lead planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts
- Direct annual fund program, capital campaigns, and other major fundraising drives
- Coordinate fundraising special events and employee drives
- Manage newsletters, direct mail campaigns, and oversee prospect research
- Serve as lead staff for Foundation Board and Committees
- Make public appearances and accept speaking engagements to share information about the Centers for Youth and Families
B. Administrative Duties
- Prepare and manage the annual budget
- Assume responsibility for the selection, placement, and evaluation of Foundation employees
- Work directly with the Foundation board and committee members
- Safeguard confidential donor/volunteer information
- Create and maintain a donor tracking system
- Generate reports from the donor record-keeping system
- Report pledges to the Accounting Department and ensure accurate recording
C. Manages Volunteer Involvement
- Oversee volunteer support group, Emerging Leaders
- Direct management of Emerging Leaders membership records and recruitment
- Provide staff support for all Emerging Leaders’ special events
- Create and implement a volunteer recognition system
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
- Five years of progressive experience in professional fundraising
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills
- Knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, especially major gift fundraising
- Skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and volunteers
- Desire to build external relationships through networking
- Goal-driven with the ability to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
- Organized with a commitment to follow through on tasks and goals
- Positive attitude, concern for people and community, presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability
