Champion GSE has been a supplier to the defense and aerospace industries of reusable, metal storage and transportation containers for over 60 years. We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator that has manufacturing experience in those industries to help us continue meeting our customer expectations.
LOGISTICS COORDINATOR – The Champion GSE Company, LLC
Responsible for quoting and coordinating transportation activities to maximize delivery efficiency on incoming and outbound shipments. The position plays a key role in the communication process with our internal and external customers, making sure to move the goods in a timely manner for internal purchasing, external purchasing, services and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinating the logistics for incoming (vendor shipments) and outgoing (customer shipments paid by Champion) by air, sea, land, parcel service and preparing all shipping documents needed in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
2. Resolving all transportation issues promptly, including playing an active role in developing a solution to problems and/or discrepancies, communicating and following-up to ensure problems are resolved.
3. Providing customer services as it relates to deliveries and schedules, order tracking and reporting status.
4. Create transportation purchase orders for logistics suppliers.
5. Work directly with Logistics Manager Americas to identify, prioritize and champion business improvement opportunities to optimize processes.
6. Performing other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least One (1) to Three (3) years of logistics experience.
Experience with UPS, Fedex, DHL and other carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
