Mainframe Systems Team
The Mainframe Systems team delivers a resilient and secure Hardware and software environment to the Schwab core client applications. Maintaining 24/7 systems availability is a top requirement, and our team must ensure seamless operation of the Mainframe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with top-skilled Mainframe Systems programmers to install and configure Mainframe hardware and software products for the Schwab zOS and zLinux Mainframe environment.
- Diagnose problems and interact with IBM and other vendors as required to provide recommended solutions.
- Partner with application teams to provide support for application Mainframe software including IBM Developer for zOS (IDZ), Fault Analyzer, and COBOL.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 9 years of systems programming experience in IBM Mainframe hardware and software with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the z/OS operating system, JES2, Security Concepts, and components of the z/OS Mainframe environment.
- Advanced experience using SMP/E to maintain, install, and customize the Mainframe IBM and ISV software products.
- Working knowledge installing and deploying all related Mainframe hardware.
- Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) file system management.
- Advanced experience managing Coupling Facilities in Sysplex environments.
- Disaster Recovery Concepts knowledge, GDPS experience a plus.
Desirable Skills:
Having these skills will enhance your ability to succeed in this role:
- Working knowledge of ZOSMF and Zowe.
- Experience supporting z/VM and zLinux.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues and recommend solutions.
- Collaborative mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
What We Offer:
This role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities, and we offer a competitive salary range of $103,500.00 - $230,000.00 per year.
