The Assistant Principal collaborates with other leadership, staff, students, and parents to achieve educational goals and maintain school standards and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educational Leadership
- Supervise curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment.
- Promote a positive, strengths-based, and tolerant school culture.
- Student Management:
- Oversee student discipline and attendance.
- Address and resolve student behavioral issues.
- Implement programs to support student academic and social development.
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Administrative Duties:
- Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and federal laws.
- Manage school operations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Special Services/Education Director duties
- Community Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the community.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders about school programs and student progress.
- Coordinate and participate in school events and activities.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional practices.
- Prepare and present reports on school performance and improvement initiatives.
- Use data to identify areas for growth and implement improvement plans.
- Oversee operations of school SIS software.
- Minimum of 3-5 years related experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience in school administration or a leadership role.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and data management systems.
