Job Summary:
Banquet Server is responsible for setting up banquet/meeting room with specified, appropriate items. serving food and beverages to guests at meeting, banquet, and/or catering events. Responsibilities include but are not limited to serving food and beverage with accuracy and politeness, guest service, clearing dishes, cleaning of all banquet areas, keeping count of guests, and post-event clean up.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with all event set-up prior to event start time as needed, such as dressing and setting tables, checking for cleanliness of chairs, carpet, linens, and all items on tables.
- Assist with event closing, including setting up and packing away tables, tablecloths, decorations and place settings, and buffets.
· Greet guests as they enter the event and help them to find their seats if necessary.
- See to the comfort of guests through answering questions, taking orders, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and serving food and beverages.
- Set up chafing pans for buffet or serves plated meals from tray.
- Return to table periodically to make sure all needs are met.
- Circulate the room with trays of appetizers and beverages.
- Conduct table touches and table bussing throughout event as necessary.
- Remove dirty dishes and linen as needed.
- Empty, clean and refill items as your side work duties describe.
- Direct guests to necessary services and features.
- Support other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety and quality regulations.
- Dress in appropriate event staff uniform at all times, while also maintaining professional appearance.
- Certified in Serving Alcohol with Care training and has a valid TABC card.
- Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures.
- Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
- Quickly respond to all guest requests.

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, staying on your feet, climbing stairs, carrying heavyweights.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Alcohol Server Permit is required to serve alcohol at event functions with alcoholic beverages present.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand/walk on feet for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to handle heat and stress.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push and stretch.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder.
- Must have clear vision for close cleaning and writing tasks.
- Must have clear vision for distances up to 25 feet.
- Must have good finger dexterity for prep work and writing.
- Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to carry food trays.
