Position Summary: The Account Manager is responsible for working with our existing customers and prospects, to manage, organize and facilitate the execution of their product and business needs, and in developing new business opportunities and driving revenue. Members of our outside sales team ultimately act as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships. We are looking for a person with sales experience that can bring their expertise to our growing team and region. Position Summary: The Account Manager is responsible for working with our existing customers and prospects, to manage, organize and facilitate the execution of their product and business needs, and in developing new business opportunities and driving revenue. Members of our outside sales team ultimately act as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships. We are looking for a person with sales experience that can bring their expertise to our growing team and region. You will be responsible for selling our fine products to restaurants and caterers, hotels and retail establishments by performing the following duties:
What you’ll do:
- Produce sales revenue through the development and growth of new sales and by increasing sales with existing accounts.
- Travel throughout assigned territory and/or call on regular and prospective customers to secure orders.
- Display or demonstrate product using samples or catalog and emphasize saleable features.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from networking, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Call prospective customers and establish buying cycles, customer needs, and create a customer supplier relationship
- Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your customers
- Participate in negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximize profit
- Educate, advise and consult with customers on new menu trends to assist them in improving their customer satisfaction
- Investigate, recommend and educate new product offerings to capture new market trends
- Anticipate and research competitive products and services and formulate strategy and communication to differentiate them from products and services
- Increase sales in respective customer accounts; prepare sales information for customer account
- Prepare reports of business transactions and keep updated expense accounts.
- Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Track stock levels.
- Previous sales experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering, and/or working as a Chef is preferred
- Two to Five years of relevant experience in sales is highly desired
- High energy, positive and enthusiastic attitude, a strong team player profile
- Strong selling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced selling environment.
- Ability to manage a large channel and broker network.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred), specifically spreadsheet applications
- BA or equivalent experience
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Candidates must live in the assigned geographic sales area
