Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Associate Program Director to join our Family Residency Associate team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working .

Summary:


Assists the Program Director in the successful implementation of the residency program in accordance with required accreditation and healthcare system guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Program Director in the successful implementation of the residency program in accordance with required accreditation and healthcare system guidelines and standards
  • Ensures fulfillment of the ACGME Common Core program requirements for GME and Family Medicine
  • Instructs, supervises, and provides education to Family Practice residents
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in the education of residents
  • Administers and maintains an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas
  • Assists the Program Director with the development and execution of Family Medicine residency curriculum
  • Assists the Program Director with the development and maintenance of a competency-based evaluation system of resident performance
  • Assists the Program Director with the development and maintenance of a competency-based evaluation system of faculty performance
  • Assists faculty with the development of rotation goals and objectives
  • Assists faculty with the development of evaluations and direct assessment of residents
  • Participates in ongoing learning activities, including demonstration of professionalism, cognitive experience, self-assessment and life-long learning, and assessment of performance in practice
  • Regularly participates in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences
  • Demonstrates scholarship by one or more of the following: Peer-reviewed funding; Publication of original research or review articles in peer reviewed journals, or chapters in textbooks; Publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at local, regional, or national professional and scientific society meetings; Participation in national committees or educational organization
  • Encourages and supports residents in scholarly activities
  • Dedicates at least 60% time (at least 24 hours per week, or 1200 hours per year) to the program, exclusive of patient care without residents
  • Devotes most of the professional effort to teaching, administration, scholarly activity, and patient care within the program
  • Participates in a structured program of faculty development that involves activities designed to enhance the effectiveness of teaching, administration, leadership, scholarship, clinical and behavioral components of performance
  • Maintains clinical skills by providing direct patient care
  • Adheres to the CNDH Medical Staff Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
  • Maintains a competent, considerate, and objective professional relationship with patients to minimize complaints, dissatisfaction, or adverse impact regarding services
  • Participates in Osteopathic Manipulation Medicine
  • Maintains sensitivity to First American cultures
  • Attend as required, education/training programs/workshops for residency Program Directors (Osteopathic Medical Education Leadership Conference (OME) or the annual meeting of the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME)
  • Serves on and/or facilitates department meetings, conferences, committees, and/or workgroups as assigned
  • Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
  • Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
  • Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
  • Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made
  • Greets and engages with a smile
  • Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes

  • Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional Family Practice principles, procedures, and techniques

  • Establishes professional working relationships as appropriate
  • Exercises tact
  • Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
