Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Environmental Technician to join our Environmental Protection team located at the Housing Annex working .
Summary:
Performs technical ecological research and assessment such as the collection and analysis of environmental media including air, water, soil and solid waste
.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares reports as needed or requested
- Analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations
- Assist in research and technical support regarding requests for grants, proposals, and other initiatives
- Maintains equipment and materials used to fulfill tasks and replenish supplies and keep simple records of work performed and materials used
- Extensive environmental laboratory experience including calibration and maintenance of laboratory and filed equipment including development and implementation of quality assurance/quality control procedures
- Conducts fieldwork to investigate the chemical and biological condition of soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, wetlands and other media
- Conducts site reconnaissance and environmental surveys for Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Environment and Energy, U. S. EPA, U. S. Department of Energy and Bureau of Indian Affairs
- Assists in surveying and managing tribal lands including wildlife, forest and plant management
- Write and update technical documents including CN Tribal codes SOPs and U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Quality Assurance Project Plans
- Performs all other duties as assigned
