Children's Center of Wayne County (TCC) The Children's Center, founded in 1929, provides evidence-based clinical therapy to children who deal with mental, behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental health and educational challenges or may have experienced trauma.
School Community-Based Partnerships : We partner with K-12 schools and community organizations that serve children to provide clinical therapy, counseling, psychological services, and psychiatric evaluations, treatment & interventions.
Child Welfare : In addition to the clinical therapy programs offered, The Children's Center places children in licensed foster homes, and supports them throughout their time in the child welfare system.
Child Well-being Family Success : We operate an onsite family success center that promotes child-wellbeing and offers children and youth from all walks of life to access relevant mental health crisis prevention and child abuse and neglect prevention services.
Advocacy : We champion child and youth well-being for those experiencing poverty-related issues, those within the child welfare system, and those in need of evidence-based, clinical therapy.

Job Summary
The Donor Relations Specialist reports directly to the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations at The Children's Center. This position is pivotal in cultivating and sustaining relationships with entry-level donors, corporate partners, and community members to boost brand awareness and support fundraising initiatives. Key responsibilities of the specialist include managing third-party initiatives, providing year-round donor stewardship, coordinating events and logistics to enhance the organizations visibility, engage the community and drive fundraising success.
Job Requirements
Experience in organizing significant fundraising events, including large-scale galas.Familiarity with donors, corporate partners and volunteer stewardship initiatives.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly with diverse audiences in donor correspondence, such as email marketing, direct mail, and social media.Up-to-date knowledge of philanthropy trends, techniques, and technologies.Preferred familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Premiere.Capable of adapting to changing priorities and producing accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, event planning or a related field is required.Knowledge and experience with Raiser's Edge or other CRM systems, as well as HTML coding and website production software.Intermediate computer skills in Windows navigation, Microsoft Office, and general office equipment.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in this or a comparable role.Essential Functions
Assist in the production of external facing collateral, including event messaging, sponsorship material and recognition, and donor communications.Oversee the execution of sponsorship activities leading up to and during events, such as sponsor recognition, signage, and other promotional activities.Serve as the staff lead for all external third-party events by overseeing logistics, approving external materials, representing our agency, and coordinating internal social media promotion.Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align branding, messaging and content for Philanthropic initiatives.Coordinate event logistics including venue, vendor, guest and staff / volunteer roles.Assist in content production (writing and multimedia) for visual storytelling material including event landing pages, newsletters, social media, event scripts, and fundraising campaigns.Support the daily execution of Donor Relations tasks, which include but are not limited to :o Assisting with donor communication planning and implementation
o Supporting philanthropic initiatives and campaigns

Partner with the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and Marketing Manager to synchronize messaging with branding, ensuring the creation of appropriate written materials for both print and digital formats.Provide operational support to enhance all communications and philanthropic needsAssist with development and fundraising efforts as necessary, including launching appeals, managing mailings for appeals, drafting funding proposal content, and identifying potential funders.Support content and copy editing, reviewing all program documents for consistency, accuracy, and clarity.Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.KPIs
Ensure that spelling and punctuation are maintained with a 98% accuracy rate, free of errors.Input, extract, and analyze data from CRM systems with a 98% accuracy rate within 72 hours of activity.Ensure corporate recognition is initiated within 72 hours and achieve full accuracy according to recognition standards following the event.Cultivate third party vendors by conducting meaningful outreach to 3 vendors per quarter.Provide donor stewardship within 72 hours of making a gift.Attend 2 group volunteer opportunities per quarter exemplifying our mission working towards volunteer to donor conversion.Physical Requirements
