The Child Welfare Case Manager Field Training Specialist assists with managing the daily operations of a Healthy Families program and oversees two direct services teams led by supervisors who report directly to the Assistant Program Manager. The CWCM Field Training Specialist assists with the overall supervision and development of direct service and support team members, maintains collaborative partnerships with other home visiting programs in the community, and coordinates service delivery to meet client needs, program goals, and contract objectives. Overall, the CWCM Field Training Specialist contributes to the CHS high performance culture by exhibiting our values and providing quality results that position CHS as the leader in delivering proactive behavioral health, case management, community and early childhood solutions for children and families. Support Child Welfare program leaders in their roles as managers, teachers, trainers and educators. Reinforce skills and knowledge necessary to support team members working with complex family dynamics and conditions. Provide individual attention for specific skill and knowledge areas identified by the supervisor. Review and assist with complex cases; provide guidance and support. Identify performance needs of case managers and other assigned staff to develop and implement training plans and/or other opportunities for performance improvement. Encourage timely documentation of training completion by program team members. 2. Ensure that all staff complete required training according to regulations from contracts, COA, and certification entities. Create team member development plans with each new staff person in collaboration with the team member’s supervisor to include shadowing experiences, compliance with training requirements and opportunities for field training. Provides mentoring and support to case managers to include the completion of home visits within required timeframes, the completion of required tracking tools, court documentation, staffing packets, family assessments, case documentation in FSFN within 48 hours, file maintenance and other required casework in timely manner. Provide targeted learning activities to demonstrate, teach, and model case management best practices. Participate in training and quality solution groups and committees to assist with implementation of new initiatives relating to the training and transfer-of-learning needs of dependency team members. Conduct small group discussion sessions around core skills and values. Provide regular reports on activities, hours and team members served. Provide and coordinate training to team members, community agencies, volunteers, foster parents and CHS clients. Completion of quarterly and yearly training plans per contract. 3. Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment. Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues and trends in the Florida child welfare system. Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process. Comply with CHS’s code of conduct, policies, procedures and other obligations. Assist with training other team members and providing back up when necessary. Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time. Job Qualifications Education, Licenses & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related degree from an accredited university, required Current or previous Florida Child Welfare Certification (Case Management, Licensing, or Investigations), preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Demonstrated experience facilitating training curriculum and meetings, required Experience: Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a certified Child Welfare Case Manager in the Florida Dependency system. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Competencies Knowledge of: PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF COACHING AND SUPERVISION | FLORIDA CHILD WELFARE STATUTES | LEAD AGENCY AND DCF POLICIES Skills and Proficiency in: Demonstrating advanced skills in communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees Oral and written communication, including presentation and platform Collaboration, teamwork, consulting, facilitation, coaching and mentoring Computer systems and MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to: Perform at a high level of autonomy, with general supervision Stimulate and facilitate individuals and groups in the learning process Build and cultivate relationships and networks, inside and outside the organization Solve varied problems and document results using sound judgment Perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse, sometimes ambiguous environments Commit to providing high customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results Meet critical deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy and quality Handle highly stressful, sensitive situations; maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Demonstrate the behaviors of our CHS Common Bond Values Be energetic, passionate and adaptable with a deep commitment to social service, empathy for children and families and a positive approach to embracing and managing change Together, good can be done.
