Job Summary

The Residential Activities Coordinator (RAC) is responsible for establishing and implementing a therapeutic and highly effective Youth Activity Program within a therapeutic environment. RAC delivers professional work involving public relationships, activities for all youth on campus, weekly off campus activities, and management and retention of approved volunteers throughout the Residential program at the Children's Home Network. The RAC Acts as Residential Liaison to various internal departments, as well as with external partners and providers. Participates in the organization's Performance, Quality improvement efforts and PBIS.

  • Plans, creates, and facilitates diverse, healthy, and clinically appropriate activities on and off campus for youth living in AIM and Kids Village.
  • Manages activity calendar and facilitates activities including but not limited to volunteers, daily weekday physical activities, weekend outings, community sports opportunities, special events, summer programming, camp, and holiday activities.
  • Provides data reports that demonstrate youth engagement and impact of services, including but not limited to compliance reports for grants.
  • Represents the Residential Program at various meetings as assigned by the Residential Director and / or designee, including new orientation tours and new hire training.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available to ensure the successful facilitation of all planned activities.
  • Works with the Donation Center Coordinator and Development to provide staff with supplies for activities, volunteers, and access to community activities / events for youth to attend.
  • Facilitates and develops daily physical activities and coordinates with staff for youth participation.
  • Maintains accurate and current records of youth participation in activities to include binders for youth activities, and photographs.
  • Adjust schedule and is flexible to welcome donors for specialty events on campus and off campus, greet and escort donors during these events which may occur on holidays / nights or weekends.
  • When necessary, assist staff in cottage ratio, transporting youth to necessary appointments / events.
  • Cultivates community partnerships to leverage free or reduced cost access to resources, clothing, and other accessory items for youth.
  • Coordinates on campus hair salon openings as needed through partnerships with local volunteer hairdressers and barbers.
  • Develops, manages, coordinates, and streamlines activity volunteers / donors / community partners assigned to the program, and serves as contact point with assigned volunteer groups. Keeps records of all donor's phone numbers, emails and contact information.
  • Assist with conducting staff training new hires as appropriate in a variety of topics once appropriately trained as a trainer.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the PBIS model.
  • Works within the philosophy, function, and personnel practices of the Children's Home Network
  • May be required to respond to the campus or designation for an emergency as directed.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred AA in Public relations / Marketing, Sports Management, or related field; or a High School Diploma with Two (2) years' experience in administrative work, sales or volunteer and donation recruitment preferably at a non-profit.
  • Experience working with children, preferably children with special needs or emotional / behavioral needs.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • First Aid and CPR certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire (classes available onsite).
  • Valid Florida driver's license with no record of criminal driving offense or license suspension.
  • Insurable under CHN's current auto insurance policy.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends .
  • Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background, and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
