PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE
Responsible for preparing the reporting of all State, Federal, United Way and other grants benefitting the Agency. Tracks the deferred revenue associated with the contracts. Prepares all grant budgets. Creates, monitors and maintains the tracking processes for all grants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensures expenditures are coded correctly for all grants.
· Reconciles Deferred revenue detail report to General Ledger monthly.
· Prepares billing for all grants as appropriate
· Prepares tracking sheets for each grant. Records all activity by source of funds.
· Ensures billing agrees with tracking sheets by program.
· Prepares schedules for the annual federal financial audit.
· Coordinates and or prepares budgets and financial projections, etc. for various funding requests from various foundations or other agencies.
· Prepares periodic reports for grants as appropriate.
· Responds to questions from Chiefs, Directors, Supervisors, Employees regarding Budget and Financial information.
· Supports grant RFP Budgets & Narrative preparation.
· Prepares grant compliance reporting for both the state and foundations.
· Assists with state and federal reporting.
· Assists with completion of Texas RCC – 24-hour childcare report (Cost report).
· Builds and maintains strong collaborative communications and relationships between other agency Directors, agency staff, professionals, and the community.
· Role-models the strengthening and management of the culture and practices that reflect the organization’s mission, values and employee promise.
· Serves as backup for other accounting responsibilities as neede
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field
· Previous experience in General Ledger Accounting
· Minimum of three (3) years’ accounting experience in grant or nonprofit accounting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Ability to be bonded
· Computer experience, including Excel, Word, and Sage Intacct
· Ability to engage and communicate effectively with persons from diverse cultures and communities, as well as from different groups, including children, their parents, agency colleagues, support staff members, supervisors, administrators, and the legal and judicial system and demonstrate a good public presence
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance
· Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is assigned to the Finance Department. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment; however, some travel is required. Work hours may vary depending on the needs of the organization and its clients.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
