Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in school bus driving or paratransit services, demonstrating strong behavior management skills and a commitment to providing safe and reliable transportation for children and other passengers.
This role requires excellent communication abilities, customer service skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical operations related to bus driving.
These are smaller busses so no CDL is needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus or paratransit vehicle, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Manage student behavior effectively while maintaining a positive environment during transit.
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and any changes.
- Assist children in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Write reports on incidents or issues that arise during transit to maintain accurate records.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and their families.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is preferred.
- Strong behavior management skills to handle various situations with children effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor towards passengers.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify potential vehicle issues.
- Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by the transportation schedule.
