We are seeking an Advertising Sales Representative (Associate Director, University & Corporate Relations) to join our team. This is a hybrid position requiring at least 2 days a week in the Washington DC office if you are within driving distance. Candidates in CA, WA, TX, FL, NY, NJ, NC, MD, and VA may be considered remotely.
This role is responsible for generating and closing opportunities for The Chronicle of Higher Education's advertising and marketing solutions business, which serves institutions, non-profits, edtech, and other corporate entities in the higher ed ecosystem.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Sell integrated B2B marketing and advertising programs that leverage The Chronicle's robust product suite, including digital, newsletter, email, print, sponsor content, webinars, in-person events, and custom research.Meet / exceed all sales goals and objectivesGenerate new business and work with existing clients to significantly grow annual account spend.Develop, execute and maintain sophisticated account and territory strategies that maximize growth.Manage full cycle sales efforts by prospecting, achieving client meeting KPIs, developing proposals, closing deals, and nurturing post-sale relationships to drive renewal and growthUpdate pipeline, customer data, and forecasts in The Chronicle's CRM.Experience and Qualifications :
Hunter mentality with consultative selling skills, including excellent discovery and the ability to tailor each pitch to maximize outcomes.Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in digital / integrated media sales with a successful track record of exceeding sales targets.Ability to develop deep knowledge of the higher education industry and to use that knowledge to identify opportunities and to engage in meaningful dialogue with higher education leaders.Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.Strong work ethic with a professional demeanor.Great attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills.Proactive problem-solving skills with strong collaborative and client service skills.Ability to function well under pressure and excel in an entrepreneurial sales environment.What's in it for you?

Starting base salary for this role is commensurate with experience ($102,000 - $125,000, not including commission)
