What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Conversion Lead - ERP Transformation position at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Cleansing and Certification Lead to join our global ERP digital transformation team. The successful candidate will lead the data cleansing team and oversee the entire data conversion process, ensuring data integrity and compliance with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Conversion Leadership and Procedures: Lead data conversion activities from initial data cleansing and extraction to final business validation. Design and develop data conversion procedures and applications, ensuring alignment with project goals. Identify and resolve data-related issues during the conversion process.
- Data Modeling, Design, and Quality Assurance: Model and design the application data structure, storage, and integration to meet project requirements. Review conversion deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and traceability to requirements. Support development and test teams by creating converted test data that conforms to data security requirements.
- Cross-Application Standards and Developer Support: Assist in determining cross-application data standards and collaborate with the functional team to fully understand data conversion requirements. Ensure developers thoroughly understand the requirements and designs, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Data Validation and Documentation: Oversee business validation processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness post-conversion. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data conversion processes, standards, and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving data conversion processes and implement best practices.
Key Challenges:
- Managing the complexity of data from multiple legacy systems while ensuring seamless integration into the new system.
- Ensuring all stakeholders, business users, functional teams, and integration leads, align on data requirements, the certification process, data cleansing, and conversion efforts.
- Identifying, documenting, and resolving data discrepancies throughout the cleansing, certification, and post-conversion validation processes when working with tight deadlines and multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in data management, data conversion, or a related role.
- Proven experience leading data conversion projects, preferably in a large-scale ERP implementation.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data quality principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data management tools and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Data Management or related fields.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Familiarity with data security standards and best practices.
