The Data Privacy Analyst 2 is an individual contributor role that helps mature the Church’s global data privacy program by assisting with privacy and risk impact assessments, Church department assessments, vendor management privacy assessments, data breach assessments, internal data sharing, actioning data privacy requests and inquiries, and other related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will understand the global privacy landscape and is passionate about protecting the data privacy of our members, friends, and employees.In this role you will work with a team of privacy analysts under the direction of your direct supervisor on developing and building privacy safeguards and supporting regulatory responses related to the Church’s global data privacy program.Daily tasks should leverage your privacy expertise to formulate and recommend solutions to problems. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel

Responsibilities
- Complete Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) of existing and new procedures and systems to ensure that appropriate Privacy protections are incorporated throughout the lifecycle of information at the Church.
- Support the development of global privacy strategies to continue to embed privacy and data ethics into the Church’s culture, including driving data awareness throughout the organization.
- Support the translation of regulatory requirements into controls and practices that can be practically applied to the processing of data.
- Support the execution and implementation of the various projects and initiatives in the Privacy and program’s strategic road map and responding to other Privacy matters as they arise.
- Assist with the development, strategy, and design for demonstrating compliance with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Vendor Risk Assessments that include EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses, data sharing, and privacy training and awareness efforts.
- Support with evaluation of risks, gaps and issues identified by the PIAs, and work with system and business owners to develop remediation action plans, under the direction of direct supervisor.
- Support with leading a cross-disciplinary meetings with representation from various stakeholders and attend periodic meetings as needed.
- Assist in capturing, maintaining, analyzing, and interpreting compliance data.
- Assist with reported data loss matters and coordinate with direct supervisor when responding to data protection-related requests.
- Assist with documentation of vendor contracts that include EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Data Privacy training and awareness efforts.
- Complete assessments of internal and external data sharing arrangements between key stakeholders.
- Prepare regular reports for direct supervisor to ensure consistent and adequate privacy risk management.
- Manage a case load of multiple simultaneous on-going Data Privacy Assessments and matters.
- Keep up to date with Privacy, regulatory and legal requirements regarding Data Privacy/protection.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. 5 years of practical experience; 3-5 years direct data privacy experience. This experience should be in areas related to data privacy or governance
- Familiarity with the European Union and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (EU/UK GDPR) and other global data privacy laws, regulations, and frameworks across the globe.
- A team mindset with a proven ability to build effective working relationships and credibility without formal reporting lines.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, take action, and self-disciplined.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
- A high level of integrity, protecting confidentiality and appropriately dealing with sensitive data and documents.
- Effective and confident communication both written and oral (English).
- Experience with data privacy management software and reference tools.
- Ability to think critically and decompose complex problems into coherent business strategy.
- Skilled in the use of standard desktop software including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience collaborating and working with cross-functional teams.
- Goal-oriented, action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined.
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
- Privacy Certification e.g., CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/US or CIPP/EU
