What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Secretary 1 - General Authority Support position at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
Performs a wide variety of advanced and confidential duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience as well as skill and knowledge of the organization’s policies and practices. General responsibilities include tasks related to administrative support, project management, writing/editing, and personal assistance.
Provides support to the Quorum of the Seventy - Full-time in the office at Church Headquarters
Compensation: $28.80/hr depending on experience and education

Employees at this level work independently with general supervision and some autonomy. Work duties range up to complex in nature, requiring a high degree of professional-level communication, discretion, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities also require making moderately complex non-routine decisions using initiative, originality, ingenuity, and sound judgment to resolve diverse and complex issues and requests in a proactive way. Responsibilities include:
- Compose and edit correspondence, reports, agendas, and documents.
- Compile and evaluate complex data/information and prepare correspondence, documents, and reports.
- Serve as an administrative liaison between senior leadership and other key leaders, both internally and externally.
- Screen telephone calls, written correspondence, and visitors and resolve routine and complex inquiries.
- Maintain and update calendars and schedules, coordinate meetings (including Zoom video conferences), and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Prepare and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Assist in the organization of large group events.
- Provide support with strict confidentiality.
- Administer internal and external purchasing, prepare monthly expense reports, and other financial matters.
Required:
- Bachelors Degree and 3 years related experience, or any combination of equivalent education and related experience totaling at least 7 years.
- Advanced communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office software especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with sensitive and highly confidential information
- Strong independent analysis and good judgment
- Working knowledge of Church doctrine, policies, and procedures
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time, moving about the office to deliver mail and other items, and using computer monitors/equipment
