We are seeking a talented and driven full-time temporary (FTT) Messaging Specialist to join BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s communications team. This role is crucial in effectively communicating BYU-Pathway’s mission, strategy, and educational offerings to nearly 75,000 students in 180 countries, as well as to service missionaries, employees, and partners.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating, executing, and optimizing messaging campaigns, segmenting audience lists, maintaining a messaging calendar, and tracking and analyzing campaign performance metrics. Important: This position requires a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree in communications, digital marketing, business, or another relevant field is required. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. When working with the international teams, an adjustment in core business hours is required. Some weekend work may be needed during times of high volume or deadlines that need to be met. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities
Create and distribute messaging to key constituents:
- Write, build, and send messaging campaigns to promote educational programs, courses, events, and more to EnglishConnect 3 learners, BYU-Pathway students, service missionaries, employees, and partners.
- Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing to plan and distribute messaging campaigns via email, text messaging, and WhatsApp.
- Segment lists in Anthology Reach and Excel based on audience demographics, behavior, and interests.
- Develop and maintain campaigns triggered by student actions and statuses.
- Craft compelling email content, including subject lines, copy, and calls to action, to drive student engagement and academic progress.
- Collaborate with other BYU-Pathway teams and clients to support their messaging needs.
- Assist in maintaining an editorial calendar to track dates and content for recurring messages.
- Track open rates, click-through rates, and other messaging analytics.
- Interpret data to make data-driven decisions.
- Conduct A/B testing, surveys, and focus groups to evaluate the effectiveness of messaging campaigns.
- Test modifications and assess the impact of changes.
- Share insights and recommendations with the messaging team and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, digital marketing, business, or another related field.
- Email Marketing Expertise: Strong experience in email marketing, with the ability to create engaging and effective messaging campaigns for a global audience.
- Communication & Copywriting: Superior written and verbal communication skills, including excellent copywriting and editing abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze communication needs, draw insights about the target audience, and create effective messaging strategies.
- Organizational & Project Management: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Tech-savvy with experience learning and using complex systems; proficiency in HTML/CSS for email template design (preferred).
- Collaboration & Work Ethic: Proactive, self-motivated, and able to collaborate effectively with a team and clients.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Marketing/Customer Insights) or other email and text messaging tools
- Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Google Docs
