Job Description
This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' A P.E. Instructor is an entry support level individual contributor that helps facilitate quality experience for missionaries in scheduled gym times under the guidelines and protocols established by the Gym Manager and MTC Administration.

Reports to manager level in operations department.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is the afternoon shift, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm.

Responsibilities
Reports to manager level in operations department.
- Oversees P.E. classes both in the gym and on the MTC athletic field.
- Handles and maintains gym equipment.
- Ensures a safe environment for participating missionaries.
- Facilitates quality experiences for all missionaries
- Conducts weekly New Missionary Gym Orientations.
- Inventory control.
- Uses the Missionary Health Guide, advises missionaries regarding fitness/weight management.
- Coordinates with MTC security regarding safety and emergency issues.
- May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to handle large groups
- Ability to provide discipline with love and compassion
- Basic knowledge of sports
- Interest in athletics/fitness
- Ability to minimize stressful situations
- Ability to foster missionary appropriate behavior in a gym environment
- Ability to stand, walk, run, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform movements for extended periods of time.
- Experience in gym/fitness instruction, coaching, athletics or other physical activity
- Return Missionary
- CPR/AED certification
