Job Description
The Welfare & Self-Reliance Manager is the single point of contact for Area and local leaders, providing awareness, training, and support, for Church resources and services, to help local leaders minister to those in need.

Consultation 30%
- Counsel with leaders on their needs and priorities
- First Tier support for all Welfare & Self-Reliance resources and services
- Serve as the first contact for local leaders and community partners on urgent and preventative needs
- Primary contact point for Humanitarian requests from local leaders or community partners
Training 20%
- Maintain general subject matter expertise on Welfare & Self-Reliance supported services and products
- Provide general and specialized Welfare & Self-Reliance training to Stake Self-Reliance Committee and other leaders
- Facilitate new leader training on Welfare & Self-Reliance resources and services
- Introduce digital training and resources to leaders and community partners
- Follow a train the trainer model
Leader Support 20%
- Discover and assist leaders to identify needs
- Gather information, tools, and other resources to support needs
- Share resources and follow up with leaders
Resource Development 20%
- General matter expertise on local market trends
- Build local relationships to meet the leader identified needs of members
- Be the Tier 1 contact for local organizations
- Focus and prioritize relationships based on leader identified needs for the following categories: Employment, Education, Emotional/Behavioral Heath, Community Resources/Relationships, Humanitarian, Commodities, Emergency Response and other Welfare & Self-Reliance services and products
- Be the technological solution to capture and share resources that effectively reach those who are in need
- Follow up with leaders on effectiveness of resource shared
Support of Area Initiatives 10%
- Support Area Presidency initiatives
General Workforce Requirements
- Temple worthiness
- Regular attendance and timely arrival at assigned work location
- Must be able and willing to travel and work in a mobile office
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in business, sales, marketing or related discipline
- Master's degree preferred
- Six year minimum (prefer eight years) of professional/operational experience including two years of direct management experience and demonstrated success working with upper level management
- Takes initiative to act and inform through regular communication channels
- Relationship building and strong interpersonal relationships
- Intuitive ability to establish relationships of trust
- Executive presence, emotional maturity, and wise judgment
- Experienced and effective trainer, facilitator, and communicator
- Church leadership experience including application and understanding of Welfare & Self-Reliance principles and the ability to properly influence
- High level of analytical and creative skills; the ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing; strong personal computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce results and work independently under minimal supervision
