Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, the Volunteer Services Manager oversees the planning, leadership, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of volunteer services.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and manages the department/staff effectively and efficiently.
- Assists in the interviewing of potential staff and makes recommendations for hiring.
- Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews staff in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
- Completes Performance Management Tool process for all direct reports quarterly and annually.
Essential Job Functions:
Plans, Implements, and Evaluates Volunteer Services
- Confers with administrative staff to plan volunteer program consistent with needs.
- Recommends establishment of policies and procedures for in-service training, work hours, and types of service to be performed by volunteers.
- Recruits, onboards, and assigns volunteers into best fitting positions.
- Organizes classes of instruction for volunteers to teach procedures and techniques.
- Manages the volunteer service database, running frequent reports to ensure system is up to date.
- Conducts surveys to evaluate effectiveness of volunteer service program.
Connects With Volunteers
- Hosts tours, orientations, and organizational overviews.
- Regularly communicates to volunteer community on updates and new opportunities.
- Actively recruits throughout the community through church fairs, college fairs, business gatherings, etc.
- Working with the Marketing team, maintain a strong social media presence to alert the virtual community to volunteer needs and events.
- Working with the Marketing team, develop and maintain website, ensuring information is strategically presented to maximize volunteer recruitment efforts as well as provide assistants to existing volunteers.
Other Responsibilities
- Arranges volunteer recognition through various channels to foster a culture of value.
- Provides coverage/support for absent team members when possible and appropriate.
