The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified applicants for Pump and Motor Foreman in our Public Works and Utilities Department . The selected applicant will perform duties essential to operate and maintain the city’s utility operating systems, including preventive maintenance and repair of pumps and motor controls in the collection system, distribution system, and Park facilities.

The Position
- Supervises staff, including training and motivating employees; assigning and reviewing work; establishing and monitoring employee performance objectives; preparing and presenting employee performance evaluations; counseling employees on job performance; and making recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, and corrective actions for employees.
- Maintenance and repair: Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, and related electrical equipment and valves.
- Safety: Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of internal and external customers and the environment; Ensuring safety practices, policies, and procedures are adhered to.
- Monitoring: Monitoring facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and other equipment systems; performing preventative and corrective maintenance on systems.
- Planning: Developing plans and programming, assigning job duties, and setting up appointments for preventative maintenance.
- Inventory management: Managing inventory and property to ensure adequate inventory at all times.
- Fields questions from the public on the telephone and at work sites regarding the status and scope of maintenance.
- Record keeping: Maintaining records of all work performed including collecting, submitting, and/or entering data. Uses personal computer/workstation to collect and maintain data and write basic reports.
- Assists Utility Superintendent in preparing the annual department budget.
- Responding to emergencies: Responding to emergency or disaster situations and functions as part of an on-call rotation for emergency work.
- Performs such other related duties as may be required.
Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
- High School Diploma, or its equivalent, plus at least five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience, including one (1) year as a supervisor.
- TCEQ - Class II Wastewater Collections and TCEQ Class C Water Distribution licenses (or Higher) or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (Preferred), or the ability to obtain within six (6) months.
Skill/Ability to: key skills include reading blueprints, diagnosing mechanical issues, managing project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical personnel. Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
