The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified applicants for Pump and Motor Technician I. The selected applicant will perform duties essential to operate and maintain the city’s utility operating systems, including preventive maintenance and repair of pumps and motor controls in the collection system, distribution system, and Park facilities.

The Position
JOB SUMMARY
Performs duties essential to operate and maintain the city’s utility operating systems, including preventive maintenance and repair of pumps and motor controls in the collection system, distribution system, and Park facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs preventive maintenance on electric circuits and motor controls at treatment plants, lift stations, pumping stations, and Park facilities;
- Repairs electric circuits and motor controls at treatment plants, lift stations, pumping stations, and Park facilities;
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps at treatment plants, lift stations, pumping stations, and Park facilities;
- Repairs and maintains electric circuits on city property;
- Ensures truck has adequate supplies;
- Maintains assigned truck in proper working condition and ensures all work areas are clean and organized;
- Fills out required work orders; and
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
- Able to work on-call schedule

Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
High School Diploma, or its equivalent, plus one (1) year of experience in water and wastewater utility operation or construction,- or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Texas Driver's License, with acceptable driving record. Class B CDL or ability to obtain in six (6) months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: basic first aid procedures; safe operating procedures of equipment used; and safe operating procedures around electricity.
