Job Description:
Summer Seasonal Position
Must be 18 years old by hire date.
This role will be responsible for leading the Nuts About Nature Summer Camp, located at the Tiedemann Park Environmental Education Center.
Examples of Duties:
- Assists with all aspects of the Nuts About Nature Summer Camp.
- Develops, plans, and leads various activities, games, and lesson plans for predetermined environmental and nature-related weekly topics.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with both kids and adults.
- Manages opening and closing responsibilities, including maintaining a key to the facility and building alarm code.
- Provides a safe and welcoming environment.
- Cares for resident education animals.
- Works and coordinates with other camp staff.
- Maintains punctuality.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, late afternoons and weekends, depending on programs scheduled on any given week
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 – 6 months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Is fully available for all weeks (Monday through Friday) in June and July, with the exception of June 30th to July 4th.
- Primary daily work times will be 8:00am – 1:00pm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, or pursuit thereof, in biology, ecology, marine sciences, education or a related field.
