Job Description:
This role will inspect and coordinate traffic safety activities within the City.
Examples of Duties:
- Conducts traffic studies and counts at intersections.
- Analyzes traffic count data and prepares reports.
- Reviews and approves permits for parking meters and street closings following designated procedures.
- Reviews and analyzes and files traffic incident reports from the Police Department to determine frequency of accidents at various streets and intersections.
- Makes traffic safety recommendations to management.
- Investigates and analyzes traffic related issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (AA/AS) and 4 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
