CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER - PTThe City of College Park has a part-time (20-hour) position available for a Code Enforcement Officer.The Code Officer's focus will be on ensuring that all commercial and residential properties comply with all City codes and ordinances regarding property maintenance, zoning, fire safety, and noise.The selected candidate will be training for approximately 6 -8 weeks (Monday- Friday). Upon successful completion of training, this person will primarily work 10-hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, with the possibility of changes in schedule depending on operational needs. In addition, the person must be available to attend court and staff meetings. The applicant must have excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.The minimum requirements for this entry-level position are: High School Diploma or GED equivalentOne year of specialized courses/training in fire safety, construction technology, or building inspectionA valid driver's license in the state of residencePreference will be given to those who possess either of the following: An associate's degree in a related fieldICC Property Maintenance and HousingICC Zoning InspectorMD Fire InspectorCommunity Noise Enforcement certificationThe selected candidate must complete the following FEMA ICS courses before the start date: FEMA ICS-100, 200, 700, and 800The minimum starting wage is $25.35- $26.48, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.To be considered, please submit a cover letter and resume and complete an application at www.collegeparkmd.gov.
