JOB SUMMARY
The Day Camp Site Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Day Camp Director and Assistant Director in providing supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to program staff and program participant during Day Camp programs. The Site Supervisor plays a critical role in the success of camp operations by setting up and overseeing daily activities, ensuring site organization, and providing leadership for program participants and Group Leaders. This position is responsible for maintaining the quality of camp programs, guiding staff, and addressing administrative needs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily setup and take down of the camp location.
- Collect participant registration, verify enrollment, and directing parents to the Parks and Recreation Office for unregistered participants.
- Assist and supervise Day Camp Group Leaders in the camp location safety, cleanliness, and security of the facility during the Day Camp program.
- Process and maintain program participants and staff sign-in procedures.
- Responsible for preparation and follow through of day to day activities.
- Provide supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to program participants and staff during day camp programs.
- Assist the Day Camp Assistant Director with various tasks and activities to maintain the camp's operations.
- Responsible for assessing and making recommendations to Day Camp Assistant Director as to program equipment and supply needs; monitors safety of all aspects of program and campers.
- Follow protocol regarding handling of behaviors and special request while giving Camp Assistant Director feedback on effectiveness of behavior protocols.
- Assist/participate in: Administering behavior protocol as directed, administering all medical protocol as directed, verbal and physical assistance, and accomplishes all other tasks as directed.
- Address pertinent issues affecting the Day Camp program, and communicate them appropriately to Day Camp Assistant Director in a timely manner.
- Document and communicate incident and accident reports clearly, honestly and respectfully with staff, participants, parents and guardians.

- Establish good rapport with program.
- Communicate with parents and guardians.
- Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while implementing program policies and procedures amongst staff, volunteers and community.
- Provide coverage during breaks and lunches.
- Process registrations and maintain records.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College graduate with education back ground preferred. High school graduate minimum requirement.
- At least 2 years working with children, ages 5-12, in a structured setting such as another day camp, church/youth group, scout leader, day care leader, etc.
- Ability to improvise or “switch up” if a current plan is not receptive.

- Must be an excellent problem solver and solve issues in a timely manner.
- Must be able to discipline appropriately and mediate situations.
- Help and encourage anyone who needs advice or a helping hand.
- Support others through teamwork, dedication and guidance in order to achieve the completion of a task or activity.
- Must have complete knowledge, or proven ability to learn, the rules and regulations of the city program including the Child Safety Policy.
- Must be friendly, active, and like to interact with children of all ages.
- Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community program.
- Have knowledge of developmental skills of children of ages 5-12.
