JOB SUMMARY
The McNaughton Spray Park Manager is responsible for the management of on-site operations including admissions and concessions. The manager ensures the safety and cleanliness of the facility as well as customer satisfaction. Aquatic site managers work from late May through September.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, schedules and evaluates employees.
- Provides in service training to employees and rotates lifeguards throughout shifts.
- Interprets and enforces all departmental rules and policies
- Compiles and balances daily deposits.
- Monitors sales, expenses, and profits.
- Ensures facility safety and cleanliness.
- Addresses customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Ensures a positive and welcoming environment for patrons and employees.
- Conducts employee in-service trainings.
- Reports and records all accidents and issues and delivers to Operations Manager.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates food and beverage inventory levels and delivery with concessions manager
- Assists with the planning and execution of events and programs and rentals.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager about facility issues and concerns.
- Ensure the facility is thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
- Manage inventory of equipment and supplies including first aid and emergency equipment.
- All other duties as assigned by the Operations and Facilities Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED required.
- Management experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must possess a demonstrated level of ability and experience in areas of oral and written communications.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work with people and calm/deescalate tense situations when necessary.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize daily work functions.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL SKILLS
- Must have the ability and history of remaining calm and rational when confronted with stressful or volatile situations.
- Must have a positive demeanor when in contact with the public and coworkers.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work environment is generally performed in an indoor and outdoor setting. Aquatics staff will typically work afternoon hours and weekends. Occasionally hours will be extended to cover Parks and Recreation programs and rentals.
POST OFFER TESTING REQUIRED
- The City of Elkhart is a Drug Free Workplace. Therefore, successfully passing a post offer drug screen is required (random drug testing may be conducted after employment).
- Background checks producing acceptable BMV and criminal history reports required.
