JOB SUMMARY
Spray Park Attendants provide quality customer service to patrons of McNaughton Spray Park. This includes ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment. Also enforce spray park rules and regulations to ensure safety for all patrons and staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet patrons entering facility.
- Supervise patrons and prevent accidents throughout the facility.
- Respond quickly to emergencies
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons and employees.
- Maintain clear communication with other staff members and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe area.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must follow and enforce all city policies, facility policies, and rules at all times
- Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both the public and staff
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work with people and calm/deescalate tense situations when necessary.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize daily work functions.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL SKILLS
- Must have the ability and history of remaining calm and rational when confronted with stressful or volatile situations.
- Must have a positive demeanor when in contact with the public.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work environment is generally performed in an outdoor setting. Spray Park Attendants will typically work afternoon hours and weekends. Occasionally hours will be extended to cover Parks and Recreation programs or private rentals. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
POST OFFER TESTING REQUIRED
- The City of Elkhart is a Drug Free Workplace. Therefore, successfully passing a post offer drug screen is required (random drug testing may be conducted after employment).
- Background checks producing acceptable BMV and criminal history reports required.
