What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Shop Attendant: Part Time position at The City of Emporia?
Provides customers of the City of Emporia’s golf course with an enjoyable golf outing by working in the golf shop and clubhouse taking greens fees and selling merchandise. Also responsible for performing manual labor in maintaining the golf carts.
Job Competencies: Essential Functions include the following. Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Schedule and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
- Cleans and maintains the golf clubhouse
- Works at the counter taking golf fees and selling merchandise
- Operates cash register
- Cleans and stores rental clubs
- Performs minor maintenance on golf carts
- Retrieves golf balls on driving range
- Mows roughs and driving range
- Assists with tournament activities
- Marshals golf course
- Assists in opening and closing the clubhouse operations
- Drives ATV and golf carts
- Makes minor construction repairs
- Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances
- Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
- Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
- Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed
- Protects and maintains any confidential information, whether oral, written, or electronic

Position Requirements:
1. High school diploma or other equivalent
2. Entry-level experience in maintenance or groundskeeping preferred
Certifications / Licenses:
1. Valid Class C KS Driver’s License
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
1. Ability to operate a cash register, range picker, all-terrain vehicle and golf carts
2. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
3. Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
4. Assess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely manner
