The Fort Worth Public Library is hiring a Part Time Library Page to provide great customer service while keeping library materials sorted and shelved in proper order. This position is 29 hours per week at the Reby Cary Youth Library.
The ideal candidate is friendly, helpful, extremely organized, enthusiastic about bringing library services to all members of the community, and comfortable working with diverse populations including people of all ages, backgrounds, dispositions, and abilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Less than a high school diploma/GED.
- No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate with customers in Spanish.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work at/travel to various locations.
The Library Page - Part-Time job responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to customers.
- Packing, unpacking, and sorting library materials.
- Emptying the book-drop and checking in materials using a computer.
- Shelving books in alphabetical, chronological, or numerical order.
- Maintaining shelved books to ensure accuracy and proper placement.
