What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gymnastics Instructor position at The City of Plymouth?
Instruct and lead preschool, youth gymnastics programs in an exciting and safe atmosphere. Training is provided prior to program start dates and a curriculum is provided. Saturday hours are approximately 8:00am - 4:00pm with some evening programming, possible Sunday hours.
Preschool and Youth Programs: Lead, coach and spot advancing gymnasts with tumbling and gymnastic skills based on age level.
Preschool Program: Lead and spot preschool students with basic movement and tumbling skills.
- Plan, organize and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting.
- Provide support as needed for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment.
- Work as part of a team to ensure quality programs for all ages.
- Follow staff policies and procedures.
- Ensure all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience of all participants.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in accordance with the City of Plymouth’s CIVIC values (customer focus, integrity, visionary, inclusion and connection) and comfort with supporting and advancing the city council’s strategic priorities.
- Must have previous gymnastics coaching experience.
- Must have 1 - 2 years of experience working with youth.
- Must be able to lead group without supervision.
- Minimum age 16 years.
Salary : $19 - $22
