What are the responsibilities and job description for the GroundsKeeper position at The City of Thomasville?
Employee in this position receives direct supervision from the Foreman. Employees in this job will perform rose installation and maintenance, grounds maintenance and landscaping within the City of Thomasville.
Performs work with City of Thomasville team members, seasonal employees, and/or prison details.
Follows the instruction from the foreman to insure proper methods are being cared out involving rose installation and maintenance, turf maintenance, landscaping and all aspects of grounds maintenance (pruning, litter control, weed control, pine straw installation, insect control, etc.)
Cleans, repairs, and services all equipment used in all aspects of the job.
Installs new landscaping, repairs damaged ground areas, installs and maintains roses, grounds maintenance as assigned, pine straw installation and turf maintenance
Applies herbicide (pre & post), fungicides, pesticides and fertilizers as required to maintain health vigorous plant, good quality turf and insure the safety of the citizens visiting the City of Thomasville.
Notifies supervisor of the need to order supplies for all aspects of grounds keeping; e.g., equipment parts, herbicides, pesticides, flowers, etc.
Installs and repair of irrigations systems.
Assists in the set up for City of Thomasville events.
