Established in 1985, CUNY TV reaches 7.3 million broadcast households in the New York metro area from its studios at the CUNY Graduate Center. CUNY TV is broadcast over the air on channel 25.3 and in the five boroughs via cable channels, Spectrum and Optimum on channel 75, RCN on channel 77 and Verizon FiOS on channel 30.
CUNY TV is seeking a Production Assistant Manager to oversee daily and weekly production activities, ensuring smooth studio and field operations. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, the incumbent plays a key role in supporting the station’s mission. They will play an essential role in ensuring the success of seamless studio and field operations for CUNY TV.

The salary range is $64,649 to $72,667 , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.

They will play an essential role in ensuring the success of seamless studio and field operations for CUNY TV.
Key Duties Include, But Not Limited To, The Following
- Coordinate and schedule production crews for studio shoots, field remotes, and special events, maintaining accurate calendars and schedules.
- Supervise studio operations on production days, ensuring crew readiness, equipment functionality, and on-time program starts.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Operations with planning, staffing, and executing large-scale, one-off, or special projects.
- Serve as the liaison between the Engineering team and Operations on studio production days, ensuring communication and coordination.
- Assign production crews for both field remotes and studio productions, as well as coverage of required meetings and events, including those of the Board of Trustees, CUCF, ABNY, and CUNY FORUM.
- Collaborate with producers, editors, and the Engineering team to execute productions seamlessly.
- Assist with planning and executing special projects, managing logistics, and act as second-in-command to the Assistant Director of Operations.
- Monitor studio facilities, addressing safety concerns, equipment issues, and overall operational needs

Qualifications
Minimum:
Preferred
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in film, Television Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a television production with a strong track record of managing both field and studio operations, ideally in a media, broadcast, or non-profit environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage production teams effectively, including experience with crew scheduling, resource allocation, and fostering positive team dynamics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital editing software and production tools.
- Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish) is highly desirable enabling effective communication with diverse communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating the initiative to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
- Knowledge of studio safety standards and procedures, with the ability to identify and address safety issues.
Provides expertise in digital and visual communications to support and advance the College's multimedia presence.
- Researches and identifies new multimedia platforms that advance College programs and initiatives
- Works closely with management to understand and produce effective message elements
- Creates and aligns various communication work products such as video, digital formats, layouts, graphics, web pages, and microsites to ensure consistency and effective messaging
- Assesses, enhances and manages the user experience on digital platforms including social media
- Collaborates with graphic designers, webmasters, and other information technology professionals to create comprehensive broadcast and multimedia communications
- Procures required internal and external resources and services and manages their utilization
- Performs related duties as assigned.
