POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Supply Chain oversees management of all areas of supply chain including all logistics, purchasing, shipping, and receiving. Directs activities to ensure products are scheduled and delivered on-time and within quality standards and cost objectives. This position is responsible for driving a culture committed to respect for people, continuous improvement, safety and quality.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Analyze purchasing Activities to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and quantities of supply
- Leads and develops the supply chain leadership team, focusing on results-orientation, flexibility, teamwork and the drive to win
- Demand Planning & Forecasting over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory management purposes
- Oversees and monitors the budget for all of supply chain operations, including some capital expenditures.
- Creates integrated process among Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and outside suppliers to execute the planning and replenishment process
- Supports a safety culture and implements safety initiatives that drive the organization to achieve the goal of zero safety risks
- Monitor supplier qualification and performance; develops and monitors the use of min max ordering procedure and overall purchasing volume and price reductions
- Analyzes inventory planning activities including appropriate level to support the production groups, control and secure inventory through system, and maintaining traceability for each part used in the manufacturing process
- Ensures short-term and long-term supplier relation needs are consistently met
- Assists company officers and other senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives
- Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan
- Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the supply chain plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
- Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department director levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results
- Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff, takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy, ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations and consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate
- Directs and coordinates various programs essential to supply chain procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.)
- Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work assignments; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Degree in Business Management, Engineering, Economics or other related discipline required. Advanced degree in related field preferred.
Experience: 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a high mix/medium volume environment is required.
Computer Skills: Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Certificates & Licenses: Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Supply Chain Management Professional certification is preferred.
Other Requirements: Extensive knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, 5s and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate team interactions and successfully partner with and influence key stakeholders. Approaches problems from different perspectives to suggest and implement solutions. Takes accountability for delivering on commitments; owns mistakes and uses them as opportunities for learning and development.
