POSITION SUMMARY
Mechanical engineer II will work with the sustaining engineering team to build understanding of the company’s
products and design/launch process. The engineer will demonstrate experience in 3D modeling parts and
assemblies. They will be involved with the release of build packages for high mix production, continuous
improvement and flow optimization for the value stream. The mechanical engineer II will be responsible for
reviewing customer specifications, performing the appropriate technical analyses and calculations necessary to
ensure field robustness, agency compliance and form/fit/function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Develop deep understanding of derivative order launch process from specification / order initiation
to build and ship.
• Provide support in troubleshooting production issues related to performance, fit, finish and BOM
accuracy.
• Model parts and create assemblies utilizing Creo and Windchill PLM Software
• Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
• Design Mechanical parts and assemblies in support of NPD (New Product Development) initiatives,
including failure mode and effect analysis, advanced predictive engineering tools, performance
testing and analysis, and agency certifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure new products are optimized for manufacturability,
installation and field service.
• Actively participate in new product development team meetings and gate reviews.

Skills & Abilities
Education:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering.
Experience:
• Mid-Level: 5 years of Mechanical engineering experience preferred.
• HVAC Industry experience preferred
Computer Skills:
• Proficient in 3D modeling software to design Sheetmetal parts, sub-assemblies, top-level assemblies and
welded assemblies.
• Proficiency in advanced modeling and predictive analyses a plus (FEA, CFD, etc.)
• Working familiarity with regulatory entities including UL, ETL, AHRI, and ASHRAE preferred.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office suite products.
Certificates & Licenses:
• Lean or Six Sigma certificates and training preferred.
Other Requirements:
• Knowledge of HVAC system design and applications
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer
• Knowledge of new product development, design for manufacturability and six sigma lean processes a plus.
• Knowledge of project management is a plus.
• Electrical and electronics knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding elements of product cost is a plus.
