Scope:
The Head Tennis Pro will be responsible for running lessons, clinics, tournaments, and other tennis-related activities, while fostering member satisfaction and ensuring the overall success of the tennis program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director of Racquet Sports in planning and directing instructional programs
- Develops and implements lesson plans and programs that cater to players of all skill levels including competitive and social players.
- Assists the Director of Racquet Sports in organizing, coordinating, administering, exhibitions, tournaments, round robins, and other special tennis events.
- Provides high-level coaching, including technical, tactical, player safety, injury prevention, and mental training to players of all levels.
- Offers private lessons, group sessions, and weekly clinic and drills
- Assists Director of Racquet Sports in creating a specialized training program series.
- Assists in selecting, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating court attendants and other tennis staff
- Administers and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts
- Ensures that all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt, and professional attention to all their tennis needs.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with club members and players
- Is visibly present on courts during peak periods of play
- Responds to inquiries, feedback, and requests related to tennis programming.
- Maintains clear communication with members about upcoming events, classes, and changes to the schedule.
- Oversees tennis court maintenance and ensure proper scheduling of court time for lessons and recreational play.
- Assists with the development and execution of marketing and promotional strategies for tennis programs.
- Manages lesson scheduling, proper member billing, and record-keeping for clients.
- Ensures safety and adherence to club policies for all tennis activities.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Racquet Sports

Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Certified Tennis Professional (e.g., PTR, RSPA).
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors/Associate Degree preferred but not required
- Pickleball certification is a plus
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or managerial role (preferred).
- Experience in developing and implementing tennis programs and lessons for all ages and skill levels.
- Proven track record of coaching competitive players and leading successful tennis events.
- 4.0 NTRP playing level
- College/high level tennis is preferred

- Ability to handle administrative responsibilities, including scheduling and weekly communications.
- Passion for tennis and a commitment to teaching, mentorship, and player development.
- Knowledge of tennis equipment, court maintenance, and facility management.
- Ability to adapt to varying skill levels and ensure a positive experience for all participants.
- Knowledge of racquet stringing

Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate tennis movements for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., tennis bags, equipment).
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions, including sun, heat, or cold weather as necessary.
