Summary:
The Social and Multimedia Coordinator will execute and evolve a social media strategy by creating engaging multimedia content videos, graphics, posts, and other digital assets to support the College’s marketing and communications goals. The Coordinator will immerse themselves in all things Wooster, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with students and departments across campus to develop compelling content and campaigns that tell our story, showcase campus life, and promote our brand promise. The individual in this role will work closely with marketing team members and others to coordinate and develop a multimedia content calendar for these platforms. This position will manage student interns, including scheduling, guiding their work product, and providing them with the mentoring and tools needed to complete their work.
Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops multimedia content, including videos, graphics, infographics, and animations, for various social media platforms.
- Assists with content creation for other Marketing areas, such as web and email.
- Creates and manages a content calendar for multiple social media platforms, ensuring consistent brand messaging and engagement.
- Tracks and analyzes performance metrics for social media efforts and content engagement.
- Contributes to the analysis and optimization of future content strategies.
- Stays informed about trends in social media, digital marketing, and multimedia production to maintain fresh and relevant content.
- Assists and/or produces videos for promotional content, events and internal communications, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Collaborates with the marketing team and cross-functional teams to brainstorm and execute creative campaigns, events and promotions.
- Ensures all multimedia content aligns with the College’s brand identity and voice across platforms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia Arts, Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in multimedia production, social media management, or related roles. Internships and/or freelance work will be considered.
- Experience with paid social media campaigns (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.) is a plus.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

- Knowledge of social media platforms, their content formats, and best practices.
- Understanding of social media trends and audience engagement strategies.
- Ability to create content that resonates with target audiences and encourages interaction both on platforms and the website, while exercising independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in engaging with audiences through messages and comments.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a diverse workload while maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Ability to monitor social media conversations and trends, identifying opportunities and mitigating potential reputational risks.
- Expertise in managing social media governance and establishing best practices for platform use, including emerging technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
- Proficient in working with cross-functional teams and overseeing multiple projects with diverse deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative, learn independently, and contribute current knowledge to the digital team.
- Skilled in creating visually compelling, brand-aligned content across platforms.
Knowledge:
- Experience with video and photo editing software (e.g., CapCut, Canva, Final Cut Pro).
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and reporting tools.
- Understanding of social media platforms (especially Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X).
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
- Basic photography skills.
- Familiarity with HubSpot’s Marketing Hub

Work Environment:
- This position is in-person with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement subject to operational needs of the business.
- Will require occasional work outside of regular 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM office hours, including evenings and/or weekends
